Artroscopia del pulgar. Tratamiento artroscópico de la rizartrosis

Resumen

La cirugía artroscópica de las pequeñas articulaciones permite un abordaje menos agresivo y recuperaciones más rápidas, con las ventajas añadidas de la cirugía mínimamente invasiva. Presentamos una revisión del estado actual de la artroscopia en el pulgar, describiendo las vías de abordaje de sus tres niveles y las indicaciones para practicarla. Actualmente, el mayor número de cirugías en esta zona se centra en el tratamiento artroscópico asistido de la rizartrosis, pero la expansión en indicaciones permitirá realizar otra gran variedad de procedimientos a este nivel. Realizamos un recuerdo de la literatura y describimos y analizamos nuestra técnica y resultados iniciales en el manejo artroscópico de la rizartrosis.

Abstract

Arthroscopic surgery of the small joints allows for a less aggressive approach and quicker recovery, with the added advantages of minimally invasive surgery. We present a review of the state of the art in arthroscopy of the thumb and report the approach pathways to its three levels and the indications for performing it. At present, the major proportion of surgical interventions in this area is centred on the arthroscopyassisted management of rhizarthrosis; however, the expansion of the indications will render it possible to carry out a very large variety of procedures at this level. The available literature is reviewed, together with a description and analysis of our own techniques and of the initial results achieved in the arthroscopic management of rhizarthrosis.
