Anatomía y mecánica del calcáneo aplicadas a sus fracturas y osteotomías

Resumen

Se describen en detalle la estructura anatómica del calcáneo y su embriología, para luego examinar sus características y propiedades biomecánicas tanto en reposo como durante la marcha. Estos datos se aplican seguidamente al estudio de las fracturas de este hueso y sus mecanismos y a los efectos mecánicos de las osteotomías del calcáneo durante la marcha. Finalmente, se comentan y discuten las técnicas quirúrgicas para la práctica de osteotomías del cuerpo del calcáneo.

Abstract

The anatomical structure and embriology of the os calcaneum are first described in detail, followed by a discussion of its biomechanical characteristics and properties both at rest and during ambulation. These data are then applied to the study of the fractures of this bone, its fracture mechanisms and the mechanical effects of os calcaneum osteotomies during ambulation. Finally, the surgical techniques for osteotomies of the body of the os calcaneum are presented and discussed.
