La artroscopia puede ayudar de manera eficaz en el diagnóstico y tratamiento de lesiones traumáticas del codo, incluyendo algunas fracturas intraarticulares agudas.

La selección adecuada de los pacientes y el estudio de imágenes es fundamental para garantizar la efectividad del tratamiento, que va a consistir en un desbridamiento artroscópico del hematoma, reducción con control artroscópico y fluoroscópico, así como fijación interna de la fractura con distintos dispositivos. Las indicaciones han ido en aumento año tras año, destacando las fracturas del capitellum, de la coronoides, de la cabeza radial y algunas fracturas del cóndilo lateral o medial.

Describimos la colocación del paciente, los portales de trabajo, la sistemática en cada cirugía, así como el instrumental.

Por último, el autor hace una puesta al día sobre la bibliografía que hay al respecto sobre este tema.

Abstract

Arthroscopy can help effectively diagnose and treat traumatic elbow injuries, including some acute intra-articular fractures.

The adequate selection of patients and study of images is essential to guarantee the effectiveness of the treatment that will consist of an arthroscopic debridement of the hematoma, reduction with arthroscopic and fluoroscopic control, as well as internal fixation of the fracture with different devices.

The indications have been increasing year after year highlighting the fractures of the capitellum, the coronoid process, the radial head and some fractures of the lateral or medial condyle.

We describe the patient's placement, work portals, systematic in each surgery as well as the instruments. Finally, the author makes an update on the literature on this subject.
