Summary

La utilización de las técnicas artroscópicas para el abordaje de la articulación de la cadera se ha incrementado estos últimos años. Sus peculiaridades anatómicas la habían convertido en una articulación inaccesible hasta no hace mucho tiempo. Además, existen numerosas estructuras neurovasculares cercanas potencialmente lesionables durante el establecimiento de los portales. Será necesario un exacto conocimiento de la anatomía de esta área para colocarlos de forma segura. En el presente trabajo examinaremos la anatomía de los portales habituales y accesorios de la cadera, así como las dificultades y complicaciones relacionadas con los mismos.

Abstract

The application of arthroscopic surgical techniques to the hip joint has gained increasing popularity in recent years. However, the particular anatomic features of this joint and surrounding tissue have made it arthroscopically inaccessible until recently. Several major neurovascular structures in the vicinity of the joint can be injured during the establishment of these percutaneous portals. Therefore, a perfect knowledge of the anatomy of this particular area is necessary in order to establish stable and safe arthroscopic portals. This report examines the anatomy of the standard and non-standard arthroscopic portals to approach the hip joint as well as the difficulties and complications related to them.
